What drew you to the rubber industry, and what has made your career in the industry rewarding?
It is an industry that gives you many challenges, which allows you to put into practice the best human resources strategies. It is always rewarding to see the results of the actions implemented through continuous improvement and see our associate's careers develop and improve over time.
What do you consider to be your greatest achievement?
My greatest achievement has been to see our associates improve their performance and lifestyle and my personal development through the company's plans and programs.
What do you count as your biggest failure and what has it taught you?
Adjusting to continuous change is always a challenge, recognizing that, in the rubber industry, to stay ahead, you must accept and promote the change that seeks to improve work processes.
Who or what inspires you?
It inspires me to see my teammates increase their performance, and it motivates me to continue supporting staff development plans.
Who were your career mentors, and what role did they play?
It has been our company's general manager because he has shown me another point of view of the human resources area and, with this, I can provide a service that satisfies our associates' expectations.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
That my fellow workers should always come out of my office smiling, regardless of the topic being discussed.
If you were CEO of a company what would you do first?
Get to know the work team personally in terms of their life plans aligned with their professional plans in the company.
What would you tell someone considering a career in the rubber industry?
That it is a growing industry in which you will always have new challenges to overcome with great learning experiences and you will never be bored. Also, you will develop your maximum creativity with exciting rewards along the way.
In your opinion, what needs to be done to encourage females to pursue STEM-related careers?
Schools and the industry should promote these types of careers oriented in gender equality; women should know that our unique skill set is more than enough to be successful in these fields. In the past, these careers where oriented more toward the male figure. However with the correct promotion, information and marketing, more females will be encouraged to become a part of these exciting careers.
