HIRATSUKA, Japan—Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. is expanding the scope of its Geolandar pickup/SUV tire line again with the launch of the all-season Geolandar CV/4S designed for crossover vehicles (CUVs).
The new product, set to debut this fall in North America, Europe and South Korea, will launch in 32 sizes, ranging from 235/65R17 108V to 245/45R20 103V, YRC said, and carrying the industry's Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol (3PMS) signifying severe snow traction.
Pricing information was not disclosed.
The new Geolandar iteration features a newly developed asymmetric tread pattern and compound that YRC said contributes to the tire's performance in wet conditions and on snow, as well as on dry roads. All 32 sizes are marked with the M+S (mud and snow) designation, indicating they can deliver traction in a sudden snowfall, in addition to the 3PMS.
