AKRON—Goodyear employees will participate in the company's fifth annual Global Week of Volunteering June 2-8. The event offers associates the chance to make a difference in the communities in which they work.
This year’s event includes 1,300 Goodyear volunteers who will participate in 23 events across 21 countries.
“Every year, Global Week of Volunteering brings our teams together to demonstrate our commitment to volunteerism and create positive outcomes for the people in our communities,” Laura Duda, senior vice president and chief communications officer, said in a statement. “It’s inspiring to see the commitment from our associates to support our local community partners and celebrate the fifth year of this program.”
Since it’s launch in 2017, the Global Week of Volunteering has allowed thousands of Goodyear employees to donate 27,000 hours of service.
Goodyear—the third-largest tire maker globally, according to Rubber News data—operates 57 facilities in 23 countries, employing 72,000. Headquartered in Akron, the tire maker has two Innovation Centers—in Akron and Colmar-Berg, Luxembourg.
