MIAMI—Tire Group International (TGI) is relaunching a line of Duramás-brand truck/bus radials to the U.S. market.
The new Duramás line features four patterns, serving trailer, closed shoulder lug, all-position and mixed service applications.
Miami-based distributor TGI said the tires have been tested rigorously for more than a decade on demanding conditions across the globe, "where overloading and poor road conditions are the norm."
"The name says it all, Duramás; they just last longer," TGI President Joaquin Gonzalez Jr. said. "Duramás has bridged the gap between value and quality where the rubber meets the road. "
The tires are manufactured in Vietnam.
TGI previously rolled out a line of Duramas truck/bus tires in 2015, which were produced in China.
Gonzalez said several truck brands have tried to lower costs by reducing tire weight, "with little emphasis on quality and the characteristics that deliver the performance demanded by drivers. Duramás stands apart from those entry level brands and delivers a robust solution for fleet owners.
"Duramás is the perfect complement to our Cosmo TBR line, giving us a one two punch in terms of quality and price."
Duramás is a "value tier" product compared to Cosmo, Gonzalez said.
"Cosmo is an overbuilt tire with specs to handle the overweight conditions of (Latin America) in specific. Duramas is engineered specifically with US roads in mind," he said.
TGI said Duramás tires are manufactured in a modern, state-of-the-art plant "that combines cutting-edge technology with enhanced construction methods to deliver a tire that provides optimal performance under varying road conditions, ensuring safety and efficiency for truck drivers across the country."
The Duramás Tires product line only includes TBR tires. The brand debuted in 2013.
