CUYAHOGA FALLS, Ohio—The agenda is taking shape for the ITEC In Focus: Green Tire conference, to be held Sept. 25-26 at the Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls.
Conference co-chairs Walter Waddell and Larry Evans are putting together a program that will focus on sustainability in tire manufacturing. Among the topics will be bio materials as alternatives to rubber, sustainability, recycling and silica treads.
Speakers already lined up for the two-day event, organized by Rubber & Plastics News—include:
- Dana Adkinson, Arlanxeo technical development manager, "Improving the Air Retention of Tires for Improved Fuel Economy & Reduced CO2 Emissions";
- Jiaxi Li, who works in reinforcement materials research and development for Cabot, "Graphenes: View of Function & Rubber Application";
- Chris Napier, ExxonMobil's staff engineer, "Effect of Tire Inflation Pressure on Electric Vehicle Performance"; and
- Gene Petersen, Tire program manager for Consumer Reports, "Tire Rolling Resistance."
There are two deals available for people looking to attend the ITEC In Focus conference. Companies wishing to send three or more people can get a special group discount.
In addition, students from college or graduate degree programs can register for free until Sept. 18. After that, students can pay $25 to attend. A valid student ID is required at registration.

Besides the technical presentations, ITEC In Focus will include table top exhibits, networking opportunities, lunch and an opening night reception. Attendees also will have access to all available presentations after the conference.
