RPN, TB to host Global Tire Report Livestream Sept. 29

AKRON—How are the world's tire companies faring in the shadow of the COVID-19 pandemic?

Rubber & Plastics News and sister publication Tire Business will address that and a range of other issues facing the industry during our next Livestream: "The Global Tire Report: A look at the world's top tire makers," set for Tuesday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m. EDT.

Rubber & Plastics News Editor Bruce Meyer and Tire Business Editor Don Detore will host the Livestream, along with Bruce Davis, special projects reporter of Tire Business and architect of the Global Tire Report, the magazines' annual statistical analysis of the world's tire industry.

Joining the conversation will be Bill Wood, founder of Mountaintop Economics & Research Inc. of Greenfield, Mass.; and Laurence Newell, Brand Finance Group's managing director for the Americas.

The Livestream will cover a wide range of topics, from the Michelin's rise to the top of the world tire's sales rankings, to the industry's profitability and investment priorities, including a discussion of the year-to-date and prospects for 2021 and beyond.

Wood, a Harvard-trained economist, recently examined the tire industry's prospects in a presentation at the 2020 International Tire Exhibition & Conference, which was held virtually this year.

Newell is considered a "brand specialist" and "consolidated business developer" with more than 25 years of experience directing client engagements in brand-building disciplines encompassing valuation, strategy, corporate identity and packaging across numerous sectors and markets.
