MILAN—Prometeon Tyre Group S.r.l. recently unveiled the new H:01 Proway line, designed for "maximum efficiency in long-distance transportation," because of reduced rolling resistance and improved durability.
The line—available in the FH:01 design for the steering axle, and the TH:01 for the drive axle—was developed for an all-season application. Both tread designs comply with winter regulations.
The TH:01 improves energy efficiency (from class C to B), equal to a 20 percent reduction in the value of rolling resistance compared to the previous line, according to the company.
"Tests conducted among many European fleets have confirmed the excellent performance in terms of rolling resistance of Proway H:01, with consequent real economic savings for the fleets, maintaining top performances in mileage and safety in all seasons," said Alexandre Bregantim, chief technical officer of Prometeon.
Pirelli & C. S.p.A's industrial tire business established Prometeon in 2017 as part of its move to revamp Pirelli into a "pure consumer" tire company, following China National Chemical Corp.'s acquisition of Pirelli in 2015.
