Nokian One HT makes its North American market debut

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—The Nokian One HT, the newest all-season tire for light trucks and SUVs from Nokian Tyres P.L.C, has been released for sale at retailers throughout North America.

Engineered for the diverse needs of North American drivers, the Nokian One HT provides safety and toughness in all conditions, the company said.

The company notes extensive testing around the world, from Nokian Tyres' winter test track in Ivalo, Finland, to the back roads of South Africa, as well as across North America in the heat of Texas, mountains of Utah and urban downtowns of California.

New innovations in the tire include Aramid Armor to help LT-metric versions of the tire resist damage from road hazards.

"The Nokian One HT offers safe, durable driving in all conditions," said Nokian Tyres Director of Products and Pricing Steve Bourassa. "We think North American drivers will love our latest effort to craft premium products that meet their needs."

The Nokian One HT is the company's first tire to be reinforced with Aramid Armor. In addition to the sidewall technology featured in most of the sizes, Aramid Armor adds extra protection to LT- metric versions of the tire, providing a puncture-resistant shield to protect the tire from road hazards.

As with Nokian Tyres' other recent light truck and SUV tires, the Nokian One HT features Aramid Sidewall technology, which provides sturdy protection from potholes and other obstacles encountered in daily urban driving and on rough terrain, the company said.

The Nokian One HT has multi-purpose sipes that offer improved braking and handling.

The company said the Nokian One HT is the latest example of Nokian's quest for growth in North America, where it aims to double sales between 2018-23. The Scandinavian tire company said it is ramping up production at its new factory in Dayton, Tenn.

As the factory grows toward its full capacity of as many as 4 million tires per year, the Nokian One HT ultimately will be made there, Nokian said. The company primarily will sell the product in North America.
