DIAMOND BAR, Calif.—Nexen Tire America Inc. is bringing rubber to the Ducks.
The NHL's Anaheim Ducks and the Honda Center arena where they play have signed a three-year partnership with Nexen making the brand the exclusive tire for both. Nexen will provide a variety of branding for the team's regular season and playoff home games.
The 650,00-sq.-ft. Honda Center arena is home to the Anaheim Ducks as well as several concerts and sporting events every year.
The deal includes a provision for the airing of a Nexen Tire High-Performance Play of the Week on social media, where the Ducks' 1.4 million-plus social-media followers catch it.
"Nexen Tire is extremely excited to be a part of a championship NHL franchise like the Anaheim Ducks and their premier arena, the Honda Center," Nexen Tire America CEO Brian YoonSeok Han said.
"This partnership will help to elevate the Nexen Tire brand among more than a million NHL fans across Southern California, and when these fans enter the Honda Center arena during a Ducks game or other premier events, they'll know Nexen Tire has their back."
The new partnership is the latest addition to Nexen Tire's global sports marketing partnership portfolio, which includes soccer clubs Manchester City in the United Kingdom and AC Milan in Italy, the Czech hockey club BK Mladá and U.S. Formula Drift.
