NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Bridgestone Americas Inc. has developed a line of agriculture tires, dubbed the Firestone Maxi Traction, designed to deliver improved traction and treadwear versus previous R1-category models in a variety of soil conditions.
Available in 15 sizes covering 26- to 46-inch rim diameters, the Maxi Traction line features a tread pattern designed for improved wear and an R-1W tread depth and dual-angle tread pattern design for improved traction, according to Firestone Ag, a Bridgestone Americas business unit, when compared with the Firestone Radial All Traction DT.
"Farmers today need tires that are as tough as the conditions and seasons they operate in," Firestone Ag President Tony Orlando said. "Firestone Maxi Traction tires will help farmers get the most out of their equipment and lessen the toll taken on the fields during critical farming seasons."
The Maxi Traction line also features Bridgestone's Advanced Deflection Design (AD2) technology for reduced soil compaction and improved traction. AD2 allows farmers to operate heavier farm equipment to carry either the same load at a lower inflation pressure or higher loads at the same pressure as the firm's equivalent-sized radial tires.
Bridgestone did not disclose pricing information on the new tire line.
