MADRID—The sanctioning body for the MotoGP World Championship has extended its race tire supply contract with Dunlop Motorsports for the global motorcycle racing series' Moto2 and Moto3 classes through at least 2023.

Dunlop Motorsports—a unit of Goodyear—has supplied these classes (600cc and 250cc engine displacements, respectively) since they were launched in 2010 and 2012, respectively, replacing the outgoing 250 and 125 classes.

Ben Hoge, general manager for Dunlop Motorcycle Europe, said both series "are integral to Dunlop Motorsport's activities and allow us to develop technology for our expanding range of road and track tires."

Hoge lauded Dorna Sports S.L.—the series' commercial organizer—for creating an "excellent platform for finding and supporting the star riders of tomorrow, and we're excited to remain a part of it."

Pau Serracanta, managing director, Dorna Sports, said, "Dunlop has been a cornerstone of the incredible success of Moto2 and Moto3 since each began, and the results speak for themselves as we continue to see spectacular racing every weekend. I look forward to more history being made together over at least the next three years."

Madrid-based Dorna Sports is the exclusive commercial and television rights holder of the FIM Road Racing World Championship Grand Prix.

Financial terms of the new deal were not disclosed.

Michelin Motorsports supplies tires for the series' top class, for 1,000cc prototype machines. That contract runs through the 2023 season.

The series recently published its provisional 2021 schedule, which comprise 20 races on four continents—12 in Europe, three in Asia and one each in Australia, North America and South America, and one still to be determined. The North American race is scheduled for April 18 at Circuit of the Americas near Austin, Texas.
