STOW, Ohio—Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels is rolling out a product it's calling the industry's tallest, DOT-approved light truck tire, the bias-ply Baja Pro XS, in sizes up to 58 inches outside diameter.
"With the launch of this new Baja Pro XS tire, we are getting back to our roots as the leader in extreme off-road tire innovation," said Ken Warner, vice president of marketing. "The Baja Pro XS is taller and wider, and purpose-built to handle any terrain."
Available in sizes to cover rim diameters of 16 to 24 inches and outside diameters of 35 to 58 inches, the Baja Pro XS includes a directional tread pattern for balanced, forward bite and circumferential tread elements for lateral grip.
Features include siping for smooth surface traction and additional lug flex, angled shoulder scallops to guide mud and loose earth into the Sidebiter cleats, mud scoops that provide a concave surface and create a void to keep mud from adhering, and a tread depth of 27/32nds inch. A 4-ply bias-ply casing construction helps ensure durability.
Sizes include: 21/58-24LT, 19.5/54-20LT, 17/49-20LT, 19.5/46-20LT, 19.5/46-16LT, 15/43-20LT, 15/43-17LT, 35x13.50-17LT, 38x13.50-17LT & 40x13.50-17LT.
