GREENVILLE, S.C.—Michelin North America Inc. raised more than $670,000 in its annual Charity Golf Tournament, funds that will go to help charities in cities where Michelin employees reside.
The tournament has raised more than $9 million since it began in 1989. This year, proceeds benefited organizations in Fort Wayne, Ind.; Louisville, Ky.; Norwood, N.C.; Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and upstate South Carolina.
"The generosity of our suppliers this year was remarkable," said Will Whitley, director of state and local government affairs and community relations at Michelin North America. "We are deeply grateful for their support of our communities. Through this event, we continue to be amazed at the level of engagement of those suppliers, our employee volunteers, and the participating charities.
"After two years without an in-person tournament due to the pandemic, it was especially gratifying to come together this year in support of the broad range of organizations doing truly impactful work throughout the local communities where we operate," he said.
Organizations benefiting this year are:
- Center for Developmental Services, Conestee Nature Preserve, Habitat for Humanity Anderson County and Upstate Mobility Alliance in upstate South Carolina;
- The Family Scholar House and Louisville Urban League in Louisville;
- Mad Anthony's Children's Hope House and St. Joseph Missions in Fort Wayne;
- Stanly Health Foundation in Norwood; and
- Tuscaloosa SAFE Center in Tuscaloosa.
