JINAN, China—Linglong Tire has signed a cooperation agreement with the local government in Jinan, the capital of Shandong province, to set up its global research and development and technology innovation center in the city.
The two parties will cooperate in science and technology and talent acquisition, Linglong said in a statement.
According to Linglong, the recent vigorous development of Jinan has resulted in the establishment of major innovation platforms that have improved the city's business environment significantly and increased its influence.
The new center, Linglong said, will offer "convenient transportation advantages and talent concentration," while making it easier for the company to increase brand influence and achieve "high-quality development."
Linglong will focus on "high-end" science and innovation resources, R&D cooperation between the upstream and downstream value chain, and regional big data and intelligent manufacturing at the technology base.
The Chinese tire maker currently has seven production facilities globally and seven R&D sites.
