"At Hankook Tire, we're honored to be able to give back to veterans and their families through our longstanding partnership with DAV," Hankook Tire America Corp. President Hosung Suh said.
"Each year, we've been able to help even more veterans across the country. In the fifth year of our partnership, we look forward to continuing to support DAV's great work, helping bring career resources, transportation and benefit assistance services where veterans and their families need them most."
Hankook said it is planning to sponsor six DAV career fairs in the coming year, events that expose veterans, their spouses, active-duty personnel and members of the National Guard and Reserve to career opportunities in their local communities from companies seeking workers who demonstrate the dedication and commitment they gain from their military service.
One of the fairs scheduled will be in Nashville on Sept. 5, where Hankook plans to recruit employees for its Clarksville, Tenn., plant and Nashville headquarters.
DAV's MSO program is designed to allow DAV National Service Officers to drive their "office on wheels" to visit veterans and their families, providing counsel and assistance on benefits and services earned while in active duty. This program extends DAV's benefits assistance to veterans who might not be able to access it otherwise due to distance, transportation, health or other various reasons, Hankook said.
Hankook said its financial support will help fund a dozen MSO stops this year.
DAV National Adjutant and CEO Marc Burgess cited Hankook's "growing and continued support" for supporting DAV volunteers with reliable transportation, job fairs and professional benefits representation.
DAV is a non-profit that seeks to empower veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity.
