COLOMBO, Sri Lanka—Specialty tire maker Global Rubber Industries (Pvt.) Ltd. has been chosen by the KION Group to supply Ultimate XT premium plus forklift tires for KION's Linde Material Handling forklifts manufactured in Germany.
According to GRI, its premium plus Ultimate XT tire, using natural rubber primarily sourced in Sri Lanka, handles the most demanding conditions, with a tread pattern that offers excellent traction and high stability.
GRI said its Ultimate XT premium plus tires are built for 24-hour material operations, with high abrasion resistance that provides greater levels of comfort and safety. The tire's high tread volume, greater lug depth and optimized aspect ratio offer better tire life, the company said.
"This partnership testifies to the excellence of GRI's tires, their high performance in varying conditions and the company's commitment to develop superior forklift tires," GRI managing director Prabhash Subasinghe said in a release. "We are excited about the possibilities ahead in our partnership with KION."
GRI said the KION Group tested the Ultimate XT tires with more than two years of rigorous testing, working with GRI engineers in order to meet specific and stringent requirements.
"We believe that forklift operators who move material to supply our needs are noble," GRI CEO Mahesha Ranasoma said. "We live and work to enhance their lives."
According to GRI, the KION Group is the largest manufacturer of forklift trucks and warehouse equipment in Europe and services more than 100 countries worldwide. KION's forklift brands Linde Material Handling and STILL serve the premium industrial truck segment.
Linde products and services are sold under the Fenwick brand in France and other French-speaking countries.
