AKRON—Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. recently named Goodyear an "elite supplier."
The award is reserved for the top 1 percent of Lockheed Martin's more than 1,400 suppliers. The honor is in recognition of Goodyear's contributions to the F-35 Lightning II program at the aircraft maker.
"This award is a testament to the hard work of our associates to deliver elite customer service every day," David Barnette, general manager of aviation at Goodyear, said in a statement. "It is also a recognition of our capabilities and the value we strive to deliver to all of our customers across the aviation sector."
The Elite Supplier Award considers factors such as: delivering reliable, quality parts, products and services on time; the alignment of a supplier's values with Lockheed Martin values; and a track record of proactively solving problems, according to Goodyear.
