AKRON—Goodyear debuted two new offerings in its RangeMax commercial tire portfolio, the RangeMax RSA ULT and the RangeMax RTD ULT, designed for electric and gas/diesel-powered regional work vehicles.
The tires are a steer-drive combo that Goodyear said are its "best regional pickup and delivery tires for traction, range and mileage, regardless of drivetrain."
The all-position tires can help deliver range efficiency through low rolling resistance and long miles to removal, Goodyear said.
"As the unique range, durability and versatility needs of regional pickup and delivery fleets evolve, we're constantly listening to our fleet partners to design superior tires for every application," said Rich Cottrell, senior director, commercial marketing at Goodyear North America.
"Our latest RangeMax tires combine low rolling resistance with enhanced features like premium casings and long-lasting tread compounds to help increase vehicle uptime and protect fleets' investment."
The RangeMax RSA ULT is available in sizes 225/70R19.5 and 245/70R19.5. It has 10-percent better rolling resistance compared to the Goodyear Fuel Max RSA ULT, Goodyear said, and also offers Goodyear's Intellimax technology, which helps stiffen tread for long miles to removal. A sawtooth shoulder groove design and advanced tread compounds create an aggressive mud and snow pattern. The tire is three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMS) rated for enhanced traction in snow and ice conditions.
The RangeMax RTD ULT is available in sizes 225/70R19.5 and 245/70R19.5. It's made with a bio-based soybean oil tread compound that reduces petroleum use; has a deep open-shoulder tread designed that offers traction as well as delivering long miles to removal; and is 3PMS rated.
