AKRON—Goodyear's Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. subsidiary plans to raise prices for passenger and light truck tires in the U.S. and Canada by up to 8 percent, effective Sept. 1.
Increases are in response to a combination of changing market conditions and the continued escalation of operational and supply chain costs, Goodyear said, and will be made in line on a per-size basis.
Goodyear did not say whether the price increases apply to Cooper's associate brands, such as Mastercraft, Mickey Thompson, etc.
This will be Cooper's first publicly disclosed price increase in a couple of years.
Goodyear also is raising prices in the U.S. and Canada on Sept. 1 for Goodyear-, Dunlop- and Kelly-brand passenger and light truck tires by up to 8 percent.
