"With our portfolio out of our plant in Portugal, we are looking for products that address current trends and challenges within the industry to support efficient agricultural work," Ivonne Bierwirth, head of business field agricultural tires, said in a news release. "Farmers will benefit from our tailor-made selection suitable for diverse conditions."
When it comes to tire sizes, the Hanover-based tire maker is staring with the 600/70R34, which it is adding to its TractorMaster line. This gives customers the ability to use it as a front tire fitment in combination with other specific tire sizes. And before long, Continental intends to introduce the tire in 620/70R42 for a rear tire fitment.
Meanwhile, the company's CompactMaster tire lines are getting bigger, too, as Continental rolls out tires in sizes 500/70R24 for both the CompactMaster AG—for ag applications—and CompactMaster EM—for hard-surface logistics tasks.
"With the size 500, we are meeting the demand from our customers, as well as responding to the trend toward larger vehicles and diverse operational requirements," Bierwirth said.
Continental will showcase its agriculture offerings during Agritechnica 2023, set for Nov. 12-18 in Hanover, while emphasizing the high-tech capabilities behind them. The company's booth will feature AI-based systems and autonomous robots as well as sensors and tire technologies that ensure greater sustainability, safety and efficiency in their OTR applications.
