CARLISLE, Pa.–Carlisle TyrFil is extending the company's recycling technology "to further drive adoption of sustainable manufacturing practices," the company said.
The latest introduction of the TyrFil Recycling Technology brand is designed for the tire technology and off-the-road equipment industries.
The new AutoFil-GenII pump can mix virgin tire fill with crumb rubber, polyurethane grind or a combination of both crumb rubber and PU. The new pump delivers "enhanced pump and grind speeds and significantly reduced clean-up time," the company said. There also is enhanced visual interface through a monitor with improved touchscreen capabilities.
Carlisle TyrFil said its computer systems, with more than a decade in the field, accurately meter and mix controlled amounts virgin liquid tire fill with granulated tire fill to create a homogeneous mixture. The system fills tires the same as virgin liquid tire fill.
"TyrFil's advanced AutoFil-GenII strengthens Carlisle's commitment to superior flatproofing performance, sustainability and materials handling best practices," Matt Pearson, vice president of global sales for Carlisle TyrFil, said in a statement. "For the past 50 years, the TyrFil brand has made eco-supportive product development a top and long-term strategic business priority. The AutoFil-GenII is an integral new development in this continued heritage and commitment to putting environmental protection front and center to our business."
The TyrFil Recycling Technology's computer systems have been field-proven for more than a decade—and accurately meter and mix controlled amounts of virgin liquid tire fill and granulated tire fill to a homogenous TyrFil mixture that fills the tire the same as virgin liquid tire fill.
The new technology pumps at up to 40 pounds-per-minute with a crumb-to-liquid ratio of up to 65 to 35 percent. Operators also can have remote access via an app or web address.
Carlisle Construction Materials, a subsidiary of Carlisle Companies Inc., operates the Carlisle TyrFil brand. Carlisle TyrFil is also known as foam fill and can be pumped into OTR tires to replace air with an elastomer core to eliminate flats. The process can used on tires for both commercial and industrial heavy equipment vehicles.
