Bridgestone upgrades Ecopia tire for long-haul fleets

NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Bridgestone Americas Inc. is launching a new iteration of its Ecopia truck tire line, the Ultra-Wide Greatec M703 Ecopia designed for long-haul fleets.

The new drive-axle tire is engineered for superior efficiency, offering fleets improved projected mileage, fuel savings, enhanced traction and outstanding retreadability, Bridgestone said.

The Greatec M703 Ecopia replaces the Greatec M835A Ecopia, which has been on the market since 2017. It is available in one size, 445/50R22.5. Pricing was not disclosed.

"Bridgestone's line of Ecopia products continues to improve with each new tire, and the Greatec M703 is the latest example of our team's ability to create a tire that directly addresses the needs of our customers," Brian Cunningham, vice president, fleet solutions, Bridgestone Americas, said.

"With the M703, fleets can expect to see improved fuel efficiency and tire wear, which can help lower their total cost of ownership and help businesses improve their bottom line."

The M703 uses a high-density tread pattern along with a long-wearing compound to deliver superior removal mileage. The ultra-wide base casing helps fleets reduce their total cost per mile, the company said.

According to Bridgestone, additional key features of the M703 tire are:

• Better wear mileage of up to 30 percent than its predecessor and 10% better wear mileage than a key competitor;
• Reduced lower rolling resistance of up to 14 percent versus the M835A, due to new tread compound paired with a low energy tread pattern;
• Enhanced traction in demanding applications throughout the tire's life thanks to long-lasting biting edge;
• Casing integrity—due to Waved Belt technology and Turn In Ply design—for "outstanding" retreadability.
• Enhanced sustainability due to the use of "Enliten" technologies.
