NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Bridgestone Americas Inc. has promoted Cara Adams to director, race tire engineering and production for Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations and Firestone Racing.
In her expanded leadership role, the firm said Adams will oversee the race tire production process from product design and development to manufacturing and management.
"Through years of hard work and dedication, Cara has demonstrated her commitment to Bridgestone and the future of race tire development," Nizar Trigui, chief technology officer of Bridgestone Americas, said in a statement. "She is a leader in the field and we're excited that she will continue to push the limits of innovation for Firestone Racing."
Adams joined BATO in May 2003 as an engineer in the tire and vehicle dynamics department supporting original equipment. She joined the race tire engineering team in 2007 where she developed Firestone's Firehawk-branded race tires for road, street and oval races, including the Indianapolis 500. She most recently served as chief engineer, leading the teams that oversee all race tire design and track-side support.
