MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.—Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald wants to help close the technology gap for students in his hometown.
He's getting some help from Bridgestone Americas Inc.
Bridgestone has partnered with Fitzgerald's foundation, the First Down Fund, to provide underserved students and families in Minneapolis with access to technology "needed to facilitate and drive their education."
"His work both on and off the field has long aligned with the company's commitment to honor those who come through in the clutch in sport and in everyday life," Bridgestone said. "This latest partnership not only provides additional support for the First Down Fund, it also further extends Bridgestone's work with organizations that support the journeys of youth in our local communities."
Bridgestone filmed a series of television spots with Fitzgerald, surprising him with personal videos from students who have benefited from the First Down Fund.
The ad campaign has already appeared during NFL broadcasts and will air during the Oct. 11 Sunday Night Football game between the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks and the Oct. 18 game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.
Bridgestone also made a financial contribution to the fund "to help the foundation provide more kids with better access to these technology solutions."
