Bridgestone Americas is collaborating with Lamborghini to provide all-terrain and winter fitments made exclusively for the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, an all-terrain, all-wheel-drive sportscar.

BRUSSELS—Italian car maker Automobil Lamborghini S.p.A. has tapped Bridgestone Corp. for run-flat all-terrain and winter tire fitments for the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, an all-terrain, all-wheel-drive sports car.

Lamborghini has selected the Bridgestone Dueler All-Terrain AT002 tire, which incorporates the tire maker's run-flat technology, in sizes 235/40 ZR19 (96Y) XL RFT for the front wheels and 285/40 ZR19 (107Y) XL RFT for the rear,  as the fitments on the V10-powered Huracán Sterrato.

Bridgestone claims the tire's polymers, patterns and tire technologies were engineered to enhance the all-terrain capabilities of the Huracán Sterrato as well as provide fun for the driver.

The run-flat technology allows drivers to continue driving safely even after a puncture, up to 50 miles at 50 mph with non inflation pressure. The tire was developed and is being manufactured in Europe.

Bridgestone said it has a new tire compound that optimizes grip, with a shoulder integrated for additional grip in deep gravel and mud. The tread pattern provides the "best possible handling and high-speed performance without compromise to off-road grip," Bridgestone said.

Steven De Bock, vice president consumer replacement and OE at Bridgestone EMIA, said the tire "perfectly complements the high-speed all-terrain concept of the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato. We’ve created a tire that is just as capable at high speeds on asphalt as it is when driving off-road, providing high-speed stability and off-road capability, rising to meet a completely different set of challenges on mud, gravel and demanding terrains.”

The Bridgestone Blizzak LM005 will be available as an aftermarket winter option for the Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato, available in 235/40 R19 96Y XL and 285/40 R19 107Y XL sizes.
