LAS VEGAS—Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) and Field Motors Sports Inc. have agreed to extend BKT's sponsorship of the Monster Jam series of "monster truck" competitions for seven more years, through 2026, the parties disclosed at the recent SEMA Show in Las Vegas.
BKT Chairman and Managing Director Arvind Poddar said BKT hopes this extension "will support BKT's efforts globally as we continue to grow our business."
BKT first hooked up with Field Motor Sports in 2014 to become the official and exclusive tire sponsor of Monster Jam.
Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
"BKT and Monster Jam have partnered together to produce the most technologically advanced monster truck specific tire to date," Bill Easterly, vice president of fleet operations, Monster Jam, said. "BKT has spared no expense to ensure the safety and well-being of our drivers while advancing the entertainment value of Monster Jam."
Field Motor Sports puts on roughly 100 Monster Jam events annually in the U.S., drawing 40,000 to 50,000 fans per event plus a growing television audience via broadcasts on cable channel FS1.
The series reports there are nearly 100 Monster Jam trucks competing throughout the year, all on purpose-built 66-inch BKT tires, from competition and stunt trucks to display and ride trucks. BKT works throughout the year to improve the tires and plans to release a next generation tire in the coming year.
"We're excited to extend our partnership with Monster Jam, which puts BKT into the spotlight and grows our brand recognition around the world," BKT USA President Minoo Mehta said. "Monster Jam gives us a global platform to highlight the quality, durability and performance of our BKT tires."
