Apollo debuts Vredestein Pinza HT tire for U.S. market

ATLANTA—Apollo Tyres Ltd. is introducing the Vredestein Pinza HT, a highway all-season tire designed for trucks, SUVs and CUVs, to the U.S. market.

According to Apollo, the tire's unique features include a symmetric pattern molded from an all-season tread compound that is intended to improve treadwear. The tire's large shoulder blocks help the vehicle's cornering ability, Apollo said, while providing improved handling in vehicles with a higher center of gravity or under heavy loads.

The Vredestein Pinza also features staggered tread blocks to minimize road noise as well as generous, pass-through notches that help evacuate water into large circumferential grooves to decrease the chances of hydroplaning.

The tread blocks have dense siping designed to provide biting edges for maximum grip in slippery or wet conditions.

The tire is available in 38 sizes, including 10 light truck sizes and 18 P metric sizes. The tires are ready for order and available in the U.S.

Abhishek Bisht, Apollo's assistant vice president, Americas, called the Pinza HT "a perfect example of the efforts of our marketing and R&D teams to create an ideal tire for trucks and SUVs across North America.

"This new highway terrain tire has been tested in a variety of conditions, over thousands of miles to ensure the end consumer gets optimal performance, comfort, and durability from their highway tire," her said.

The tire comes with a 70,000-mile warranty (50,000-mile for LT sizes) and also has a road-hazard warranty.

The Vredestein Pinza HT will be available across Vredestein's U.S. dealer network.

Apollo's Vredestein brand launched the Pinza AT, a light truck/SUV product line, roughly a year ago with a billboard on Times Square.

The Pinza line—Pinza means "pliars" or "tongs" in Italian—is engineered "to deliver the off-road capability expected of a premium all-terrain tire without the sacrifices many drivers are forced to accept as a trade-off," Apollo said.

There are 85 Pinza sizes available between the Pinza AT and Pinza HT. All tires are manufactured in India or at Apollo's European plants.
