FORT WORTH, Texas—When it comes to sustainability, Tokai Carbon CB Ltd. is taking the gold, according to EcoVadis, a collaborative platform that assesses the sustainability of supply chains.
Tokai Carbon CB, in a news release, said it was among the top 5 percent of companies assessed within its industry with a score of 68 percent, earning EcoVadis' gold level rating. Toikai Carbon CB pointed to its 2020 signing of the U.N. Global Compact as one reason it was honored. With the pact, the carbon black maker pledged to operate in accordance with universal principles on human rights, labor, anti-corruption and the environment.
Tokai Carbon CB is a U.S. subsidiary of Tokyo-based Tokai Carbon Group, a maker of furnace grade carbon blacks. Tokai Carbon Group offers more than 40 grades of carbon, and its U.S. headquarters facility in Fort Worth includes an research and development facility.
