FAIRFIELD, Calif.—MetaWorks Platforms Inc. is fully rebranding as Waste Energy Corp., a move that reflects its "strategic shift in focus toward becoming a waste-to-energy conversion company."
To go along with its naming rebrand, the company is instituting a new waste management plan, officials said. The new plan will convert plastic waste and used tires, 79 percent of which now find a second life, into clean and renewable diesel fuel using artificial intelligence and pyrolysis technology.
"Our mission is to transform these persistent challenges into opportunities for clean energy," Scott Gallagher, president of Waste Energy Corp. said. "This change is more than a rebranding; it represents our vision to contribute meaningfully toward reducing the volume of plastic and tire waste that ends up in our landfills and oceans."
The rebranding and change of plans allow for Waste Energy Corp. to combat the challenges of both plastic pollution and carbon emissions, the company said. Waste Energy Chairman Cameron Chell expressed excitement with the new direction, citing both its financial potential for the company and its positive environmental impact.
"What started as an interesting internal strategic project has evolved into being such a meaningful opportunity that the company has elected to pursue the waste-to-energy market with its technology and service offering as its focus," Chell said.
