AKRON—Flexsys America L.P. has received the Gold EcoVadis Sustainability Rating for its rubber chemicals and solutions manufacturing operations.
The award was presented July 21. EcoVadis is a provider of sustainability ratings and intelligence based in Paris.
"We are proud to receive a gold rating from EcoVadis," said Flexsys CEO Sandip Tyagi. "Even before Flexsys became a standalone entity in 2021, we had a long history of environmental responsibility.
"This honor reflects our commitment to creating a more sustainable future for our customers and the planet."
The award means that Flexsys scored in the top 6 percent of chemical producers in environmental impact, labor and human rights issues, ethics and "sustainable procurement."
"The Gold EcoVadis Sustainability Rating reflects the long legacy of innovation, safety and resource efficiency for which Flexsys is known," Flexsys said in a news release announcing the award.
Among other name brands, Flexsys produces the Crystex vulcanizing agents, Santoflex antidegradants and Duralink HTS post-vulcanization stabilizers.
