ROSEVILLE, Mich.—Dayco Corp. is taking a little bit of what it already has and making its newest products more sustainable in the process.
With its mission to reduce the environmental impact of its operations in mind, Dayco launched a 36-month initiative that includes the use of recycled elastomeric materials in its products, combining them with virgin raw materials.
At the same time, Dayco intends to reduce the impact from end-of-life belts. To do so, the company looks to partner with vehicle service facilities to collect the belts that are replaced during routine service for recycling.
And to achieve both aims, it is looking to its Chieti, Italy, R&D team and facility to lead the way.
"By taking these actions, Dayco is following its corporate 'Move Forward, Always' principle: we bring innovation starting from the product design phase, responding to international regulations in the automotive sector, and we offer industrial solutions that comply with the company's principles of sustainability," the company said in a news release.
