MILAN—In the pursuit of big sustainability goals, a little affirmation goes a long way.
Pirelli & C. S.p.A. has, for the sixth consecutive year, received that affirmation. The Italian tire maker again received a Climate A rating from CDP, an international non-profit dedicated to the promotion of environmental business practices.
According to Pirelli, the A rating is the highest score within the Climate section. CDP considers several factors when providing the rating. Among them are the company's decarbonization strategies, transparency and effectiveness of the actions implemented to reduce emissions and climate risks.
Pirelli is among 346 companies worldwide to receive the rating.
"Obtaining the CDP's most important recognition in the fight against climate change confirms the concrete results supporting (the) sustainable transition achieved by Pirelli and its entire value chain," Marco Tronchetti Provera, Pirelli executive vice chairman, said in a statement. The achievement, he added, is due to a continued focus on "new technologies and the constant commitment to innovation."
