EcoVadis' ratings have become a leading indicator of sustainability efforts across a number industries—including the rubber and tire sectors—and have become essential to helping OEMs and rubber product makers as they look to establish more transparent supply chains of their own.
And for Cabot, the EcoVadis rating also is affirmation that it is making strides toward some of its boldest sustainability goals—goals that took root more than a decade ago. Short term, for instance, Cabot looks to reduce emissions and energy consumption.
The specialty chemicals and performance materials company further articulated its vision for a more sustainable future at the Tire Technology Expo when it launched Evolve, a technology platform that will drive Cabot's evolution toward a more sustainable and circular future.
"Achieving and maintaining the EcoVadis platinum rating is no easy feat and takes the partnership and commitment of our entire company working to develop technologies to meet sustainability challenges, conserve resources across our value chain and grow our position in the circular economy," Martin O'Neill, senior vice president and chief sustainability officer, said in a news release. "This important work is enabling us to maintain our status as a leader in our industry as we continue to advance in our ESG efforts at a global scale."
