"The EcoVadis review is an important independent third-party assessment of our (ESG) program," said Scott Simmons, global director of ESG for Barentz. "We are extremely proud to be again recognized by EcoVadis for our efforts in these areas."
The distributor of life science ingredients and specialty chemicals was rated on 21 indicators within environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement categories—all categories that EcoVadis monitors, among many others.
The gold rating placed Barentz N.A. in the top 93rd percentile of all international ESG programs.
"We take our responsibilities to our customers, communities, and employees seriously," Simmons said. "The continued recognition from EcoVadis demonstrates our ongoing commitment to ESG. We look forward to continuing to grow our ESG programs in 2022 and beyond."
Established in 1953, Barentz has manufacturing facilities in more than 60 countries. The company has annual sales of $2.1 billion and employs about 1,750 people.
