TOKYO—Nippon Zeon, part of Japanese materials supplier Zeon Corp., has raised its selling prices for nitrile rubber.
The company generally has raised prices for Nipol-branded NBR by $110-250 per metric ton for 2020 delivery, the company said in an Aug. 3 statement.
Zeon said the price increase was made in order to achieve stable supply of products as it works to maintain and improve quality for customers.
The company said it had made efforts to absorb costs of repair and maintenance during the past few years, but could no longer cover them "due to the severe economic environment these days."
According to Zeon, Nipol elastomers offer a good balance of performance and cost-effectiveness for applications needing fluid resistance, moderate heat resistance and durability.
