MUNICH—Wacker Chemie A.G. and its subsidiary, Wacker Polymers, will institute a temporary surcharge for its entire product range of dispersions, resins and dispersible polymer powders, the company said March 18.
The surcharge, to take effect April 1, is for Wacker's global range of products.
Current costs for Wacker Polymers, in concert with other recent price hikes from Wacker Chemie in silicones and other dispersions, are between about $120 and $475 per ton (specific to region, product and sourcing location).
Wacker reiterated that the price increase is temporary, and that it is being implemented to ensure "a fair and reliable supply of products."
Wacker Polymers supplies binders and additives comprising polyvinyl acetate and vinyl acetate copolymers and terpolymers, used in construction chemicals, paints and surface coatings, adhesives, sealants, carpet applications and nonwovens.
