MUNICH—Wacker Chemie A.G. will institute a 10-percent price hike for its dispersions, resins and dispersible powders, a result of an "increase in raw material costs and extreme tightness on various raw materials," according to the supplier.
The price increase for the complete line of Wacker specialty chemicals will take effect March 15.
"The price adjustment enables Wacker Polymers to continue providing customers with a wide-range of innovative quality products and comprehensive technical, sales and customer support services," Wacker said in a March 2 press release.
Dispersions and dispersible powders of the Vinnapas brand are applied in a broad variety of industries, ranging from construction, adhesives, caulks, nonwovens, paints and coatings to paper, carpet and textiles.
Wacker products are used in construction chemicals, paints and surface coatings, adhesives, sealants, carpet applications and nonwovens, as well as in fiber composites and polymeric materials based on renewable resources.
