HANOVER, Germany—Synthos S.A. is expanding its butadiene rubber production capacity by 50 percent to help address ongoing market shortages of the material.
The program involves projects at the group's facilities in Schkopau, Germany, and Kralupy, Czech Republic, Matteo Marchisio, business unit director, Synthetic Rubber at Synthos, told European Rubber Journal.
By year end, Synthos will add 20 metric kilotons per annum (ktpa) of new capacity at the Czech plant via a debottlenecking on the finishing line, Marchisio said at Tire Tech Expo 2022, held May 18-20 in Hanover.
