HOUSTON—Orion Engineered Carbons is increasing prices on all rubber carbon black products sold in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.
Effective Aug. 1, or as permitted by customer contracts, the company is adjusting prices for rubber carbon black by an average of $130 per metric ton, Orion said July 1.
The carbon black manufacturer said rising operating, logistics and environmental costs required to maintain service levels made it necessary to increase the prices.
In addition, it said, the service surcharges and payment terms shall be adjusted to reflect the higher costs.
Orion said it required the price hike in order to remain a "reliable, long-term global supplier of high-quality products and services."
