CLEVELAND—Lubrizol has expanded its Estane ZHF portfolio of thermoplastic polyurethanes. The new grades offer benefits to cable manufacturers including low toxicity, low smoke and low gas conductivity.
The line consists of five new products. Estane ZHF 90AT8 NAT 02 is designed for robotic and communication cables, while 58202 NAT 02 is said to be easy to process.
The 58370 NAT 01 grade complies with IEC 62893 and EN 50620 standards for electric vehicle charging cables, while 58211 NAT 01 combines thermal resistance and processability with flame retardant properties. Finally, 85AT8 MATT has a matt surface in addition to flame retardance and easy processability.
"New emerging applications have demanding material requirements and international cable-related regulations are also becoming more stringent," said Fabio Morelli, new business development senior manager for Lubrizol Engineered Polymers in EMEA. "Some Estane ZHF grades have been designed after a collaborative development process with key manufacturers of electric vehicle charging cables."
