BREA, Calif.—Rick Finnie, owner and president of M.R. Mold & Engineering, has been named Mold Builder of the Year by the American Mold Builders Association.
The award recognizes individuals in the mold building industry who have shown outstanding talent and dedication, according to an M.R. Mold press release. Finnie received the award at the 2019 conference of the American Mold Builders Association.
A veteran of more than 40 years in the mold building industry, Finnie started learning the trade in his father's cutter and grinder business when he was 15, according to the release.
Finnie founded M.R. Mold with one employee, and now employs more than 30, the release said. He is active in the Los Angeles Rubber Group (TLARGI) and started an internship program at M.R. Mold last year, mentoring three juniors from a local high school, it said.
M.R. Mold is a leading designer and manufacturer of liquid silicone rubber, gum stock silicone and plastic injection molds, according to the release.
