COLOGNE, Germany—To reflect the continuing rise of raw material pricing, Lanxess has increased prices for adipic acid globally. Effective immediately, the price per metric ton of adipic acid will go up by about $108 per metric ton, the specialty chemicals company said in a news release.
Adipic acid is an important precursor for the production of polyamide 66 based fibers and technical polymers and for the synthesis of polyester polyols for polyurethane systems and thermoplastic polyurethanes.
