FRANKFURT, Germany—The Hahn Group, a leading manufacturer of factory automation, has acquired Columbia, S.C.-based REI Automation Inc.
The acquisition was effective as of Nov. 1, Hahn said in a press release.
REI gives Hahn an important hub in the industrial center of the southeastern U.S., according to Hahn. The 80-employee REI, with annual revenues of $25 million, will complement Hahn's Assembly & Test Division, the Frankfurt-based manufacturer said.
REI specializes in automation for medical, electronics and consumer goods manufacturing. The REI acquisition reflects Hahn's strategy to diversify its business across industries and regions, Hahn said.
"We found a passionate team with an impressive track record building the company in the past and ambitious plans to develop it further," Hahn Managing Director Philipp Unterhalt said in a statement.
The purchase price was not disclosed.
Owned by RAG-Stiftung, Hahn has nearly 1,400 employees in 13 countries, according to the news release.
