CAIRO—ExxonMobil showcased the sustainability benefits of its elastomer products as enablers that increase the recycled-content of plastics end-products, during this year's Plastex event in Cairo.
At this year's Plastex event in Cairo, the company is introducing Rethink Recycle grades that tap into the properties of its Vistamaxx products to upgrade recyclate materials.
Vistamaxx polymers are propylene-based thermoplastic elastomers that are compatible with other polyolefinic materials.
Acting as a compatibilizer between polyethylene and polypropylene, the additive can improve the properties of the final products.
The materials are a cost-effective solution that allows for increased use of recyclate in high-value applications, ExxonMobil said.
Benefits, it added, include enhanced toughness, cling, sealability, softness, clarity, dispersion, adhesion, elasticity and flexibility.
Plastex 2020 was held in Cairo Jan 9-12.
