DUESSELDORF, Germany—Davis-Standard L.L.C. will be highlighting a range of extrusion and converting technologies in the upcoming K show in Duesseldorf, Germany along with its recently acquired businesses Maillefer International Oy and Brampton Engineering and Thermoforming Systems L.L.C. (TSL).
The company will exhibit DS Activ-Check, a "smart" technology system for continuous extruder monitoring, which offers real-time notifications for potential failures.
At K, the predictive tool, which involves monitors and sensors to check machine operations, will be demonstrated on a profile line using Microsoft Windows 10 on its integrator EPIC III control system.
Another item on display will be Bluebox, a Maillefer Industry 4.0 data collection tool which has been developed for high-speed acquisition and storage of data from all levels.
Maillefer will demonstrate an implementation of a smart factory, where data from different exhibits including the stand itself are correlated into informative dashboards. The real-time exhibit will provide visitors with insight into how Industry 4.0 applies to their particular manufacturing environments.
Davis Standard also will showcase its elastomer developments, including equipment for both medical and automotive applications.
These include a silicone technology for producing medical grade silicone tubes, wound drains and catheters as well as capabilities for manufacturing hydraulic and automotive hoses and automotive seals.
Also on offer will be the Italycs 5 control system for blown film lines, which has been co-developed by Gloucester Engineering and Brampton Engineering to replace the existing GEC Extrol control systems.
Additionally, the company will showcase the Vector air ring, a new air control technology that can improve the uncorrected film gauge by as much as 60 percent to 80 percent.
The Vector air ring provides stable air velocity resulting in consistent cooling to minimize variations in gauge across the width of the film.
"The K show is always a tremendous opportunity to connect with our global customer base," said Jim Murphy, Davis-Standard president and CEO.
"K 2019 will also mark the second anniversary of our acquisition of Maillefer. This partnership has significantly broadened Davis-Standard's reach and capabilities throughout Europe and the MEA regions," he added.
Davis Standard will exhibit at hall 16, booth A43 at K2019 Oct. 16-23.
