BUSTO ARSIZIO, Italy—As Comerio Ercole celebrates its 100th year in the business, it introduced a four-roll calender, saying the machine has been installed as part of the operations for a major tire maker in Germany.
Comerio Ercole, founded in 1885, began work in the textile field before developing its first rubber processing machines in 1919 for rubberizing textile cord. That machinery development, commissioned by a major Italian tire manufacturer, launched Comerio Ercole's involvement in the rubber industry, during which it has delivered more than 1,000 calenders to countries around the world and filed 14 international patents for related technologies.
To mark its centenary year, the company has published a book about calendering technology and Industry 4.0 process developments.
