MARIETTA, Ga.—Birla Carbon is increasing the prices for all carbon black products manufactured in North America by 15 percent.
The increase will come into effect July 1, the company said in a May 16 news release, and will apply to all shipments made on or after that date.
The manufacturer said increasing costs in materials, freight, logistics and operations were the key reasons for "this necessary change."
Birla Carbon, part of Indian multinational conglomerate, the Aditya Birla Group, is one of the main global suppliers of carbon black.
The company operates 16 manufacturing facilities across 12 countries and two technology centers in Marietta, Ga., and Taloja, India.
