MARIETTA, Ga.—Birla Carbon will increase specialty carbon black prices in North America by 9 percent for all shipments made on or after Sept. 1.
The higher price, Birla said, reflects "extreme cost increases in carbon black feedstock" and helps to ensure the continued supply of high quality carbon blacks.
A revised schedule of fees for non-standard package services also will go into effect Sept. 1, the firm said. The schedule should be available from Birla Carbon representatives.
Birla Carbon is a global supplier of carbon black, with products that have applications in paints and coatings, plastics, and adhesives, among others.
