MARIETTA, Ga.—Birla Carbon is again being recognized for its sustainability efforts, the company said.
The carbon black supplier is receiving a gold level rating for sustainable practices by EcoVadis. It's the fourth year in a row that Birla Carbon has received such a rating.
"The continued success only shows that our strategy, engagement and execution toward becoming a sustainable organization is on the right track," Joe Gaynor, chief legal, sustainability and risk officer with the company, said in a statement.
EcoVadis provides corporate social responsibility scorecards and ratings in more than 150 countries around the world. Key areas of consideration include environment, fair labor, human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.
Birla Carbon, one of the world's largest suppliers of carbon black, is a unit of Aditya Birla Group.
The Mumbai, India-based company has a regional headquarters in Marietta.
