HAMBURG, Germany—Biesterfeld is expanding its partnership with Denka Co. Ltd. by taking over distribution of Denka ER acrylate rubbers.
The new agreement applies to the whole of Europe, excluding Spain and Turkey, Russia and Brazil, according to a Biesterfeld press release issued Jan. 14.
With a fully saturated polymer chain, Denka ER elastomers offer both "outstanding" heat stability at temperatures up to 190°C and very good resistance to oil, the company said.
The polymer structure enables them to deliver superior resistance to cyclic heat and oil stresses compared with established acrylate rubbers, Biesterfeld added.
Other features include good UV and ozone resistance and low-temperature flexibility down to minus 35°C.
Primary applications include automotive charge-air or transmission-oil cooler hoses and engine gaskets, as well as industrial roll covers, seals and hoses.
"With the new distribution rights, we are expanding our range of special elastomers and adding acrylate rubbers to our catalog," said Jorn Thomsen, the product manager of specialty polymers for Biesterfeld Performance Rubber.
"With particular emphasis on further developments in high-temperature stability (Denka ER) stresses the high technical expertise of the manufacturer."
